Sidmouth Annual Classic Car Show

The Sidmouth Classic Car Show took place this weekend on the grounds of Sidmouth Cricket Club.

The event took place on Sunday September 18 and was considered a success by visitors, spectators and organisers. More than 300 cars were on display, dating from 1914 to 2001, some of whose owners will be dressed in vintage clothing corresponding to the era of their vehicle. There will be entertainment from the City Steam Jazz Band and the Liberty Sisters. Light refreshments will be available.

The Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Crash Box & Classic Car Club of Devon, have held the Sidmouth Classic Car Show since 2012. With continued promotion, it grows larger each year with a diverse and interesting range of cars on display.

Sidmouth resident Maria Mccarthy said: ‘The weather was perfect and there was an impressive array of vehicles of all vintages, which had been lovingly restored and maintained.

“Automotive fans of all ages enjoyed the event and were also entertained by the 1940s singing trio, the Liberty Sisters, and a jazz band.”

A spokesperson for the show said: ‘The cricket pavilion was a lovely place to have a coffee or a local beer. Open all day.

“There was a jazz band and a 1940s harmony trio, The Liberty Sisters, who sang for us throughout the day.

“There is always the option of strolling into the nearby town center where our individual shops and welcoming bars and cafes will complete your day.

“There’s not much to beat in Sidmouth on a summer afternoon, so bring some friends to what is sure to be a well supported and enjoyable event.”
