Retro-Fest at Charlton Park next weekend
A FESTIVAL to Wiltshire next weekend offers visitors the chance to step back in time and forget their worries.
Retro-Fest – which takes place in Charlton Park, near Malmesbury on September 25-26 – features live music with a vintage vibe, inspired by favorites from the 40s to the 80s.
A classic vehicle area will feature 1920s cars, bikes, vans and motorhomes, while there will also be chainsaw sculpture exhibits, street entertainment, a fun fair, a food market. and a shopping area offering unique finds for the home.
Festival organizer Quint Hughes, 53, said: “People want to go back, not forward because looking forward doesn’t look very good, I have to be honest.
“I grew up in the 1980s which was an amazing time for freedom – free speech, being who you are, being able to express yourself and being able to go out into the world to have an amazing time.
“The 1960s was another era with the same, the 1950s was after the war where people started to enjoy life after being suppressed.
“People can step out of reality – who wants to live in the reality we live in now?
“A weekend at one of these shows is to take a step back and forget all your problems.
“It’s gonna be a good day of laughs, what more could you ask for?” ”
