Members of the Sydney Drag-ens Hot Rod Club can’t wait to return to Crowdy Head Beach for RattleTrap IV. The event will take place on Saturday May 8 and will see 60 vintage hot rods and 20 classic motorcycles hitting the sand for support sprint racing action. It will also include “Grudge Matches” and an exhibition class for unique and historic vehicles. The event was supposed to take place last May, but was canceled due to the global pandemic. Like all sports clubs in the country, the hot rod club has been forced to adapt to the new regulations. “It definitely cuts the wind,” said club president Andrew McClelland. He praised the Crowdy Head / Harrington community, which will once again welcome car enthusiasts for the fourth time. “I don’t think I’ve ever met a city with more pride, it’s a great place,” said Andrew. “All residents are proud and welcome the revival of their economy.” He said many hotels and trailer parks will be full throughout the weekend due to the event. Doors open at 9:30 am for a 10:30 am departure. Limited tickets are available online. COVID-19 regulations will also be applied. The weather conditions for the day should be perfect for the race.
