Over 9,000 cars registered for Cruisin ‘the Coast
GULFPORT, Mississippi (WLOX) – Crusin ‘the Coast topped 9,000 classic cars for the first time in history. The official number is 9,045 and we’re only halfway through Cruisin’s 25th anniversary event.
The numbers keep growing and the cars keep rolling.
“We couldn’t be prouder,” said Craig Grisoli of Cruisin ‘the Coast. “The board of directors and the staff. If you look back on our history, you can see that we started with 374 cars. We have more cars parked here at Centennial Plaza than today.
The previous record was in 2019. Jerry Coludrovich was downstairs to help plan Cruisin ’25 years ago.
“It makes me feel good to know that I was one of the first,” Coludrovich said. “At first I went to all the meetings. Each of the good and the bad. It was fun deciding what to do and which cities and things to do would be. Yeah, that was pretty cool.
And he loves to watch his baby grow.
“It’s just amazing to see him grow up like this,” Coludrovich said. “And, you saw the people. Talk to each other, just ask questions about their cars, ask them where they’re from, what they’re doing.
It’s Joanna Jones’ zen time, and she’s been coming from the start.
“Watching independent growth and coming together of people who would not normally blend into a place of love and joy. It matters, ”Jones said.
Nathan and Patricia Hatheway have decided to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on the occasion of the silver wedding anniversary of one of their favorite events. And they wanted to do it safely.
I am not a vaxxer, but we are vaccinated. And we want to make sure we’re here having fun, enjoying our life. We are at the age where we don’t have so many years left, ”said The Hatheways.
The previous record was in 2019, when car enthusiasts registered 8,620 vintage vehicles.
