Opening of the evening cruise postponed to May 12

METUCHEN – Are you nostalgic for the days when rear spoilers, sparkling chrome accents, muscle cars and hot rods ruled the road? Then Cruise Night in Downtown Metuchen is the event for you.
Fans of classic and vintage cars will head downtown once again starting May 5, when the 2021 Cruise Night season kicks off.
Sponsored by the Metuchen Region Chamber of Commerce, the night cruise season has been extended to 2021 and will run monthly through October.
Vintage and classic cars will line New and Center streets in downtown Metuchen from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month: May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4, September 1 and October 6. in case of rain, rapid advance until the following Wednesday.
In addition to the cars on display, a deejay will entertain the crowd.
Participants will be required to observe social distancing and wear masks, as they did last year, to comply with COVID-19 guidelines.
There is no registration fee to participate in Cruise Night. Cars can be registered at the event and gift certificates will be awarded to entries selected as the Chamber’s Choice and People’s Choice awards.
