Lovingly restored 1952 Dodge B3 pickup truck

The Pick of the Day is an impeccably restored restaurant 1952 Dodge B3 pickup truck, a former work vehicle that has been retired for a splendid rest life. Lucky truck!

Less than 20 miles have been put on this truck “since the nut and bolt rotisserie restoration, excellent truck very detailed and rust free, complete with a large folder of restoration receipts,” according to the Rochester, Minnesota, dealer advertising the pickup at ClassicCars.com.

The restoration was obviously a labor of love rather than financial gain since, as the seller notes, “you couldn’t come close to duplicating for the asking price.”

Those with a more capitalist bent might ask, what’s the upside to that? But there’s no denying that the restorer has created a thing of beauty, an original-spec 70-year-old half-ton truck that’s absolutely stunning in every way. That seems to have been the main focus here.

“Every inch of this truck has been restored and it shows,” the ad says. “No disappointment.”

The truck has a solid history in the dry Southwest, the seller adds, with unique ownership over its first six decades.

“Original truck from local Arizona in the Tucson area its whole life with one owner until 2013″, explains the seller. “Powered by the original 6cyl (flathead) engine with 3 speed manual transmission and finished in Judson Green with Tan interior, beautiful wood bed, all new re-chromed bumpers, grille, bezels etc.

“New wiring, new weather stripping, rebuilt engine, artillery style chrome wheels with whitewall tires.”

While most of the old trucks you see from this vintage are Fords or Chevys, Dodge trucks played an important role back then on post-war farms and construction sites. The styling is simple but attractive enough for today’s collectors, and this one comes across as a visitor from another dimension, with so much more perfection than anything dialed in from the factory.

The large photo galley with the advert shows the extent of the refurbishment, with everything on the body, interior, underside, frame, inside wheel arches, beautifully finished wooden bed, all looking exceptional, as if the truck had never touched a speck of dirt in its existence. The color palette is also lovely, both fresh and authentic.

The asking price for this very attractive Dodge truck is $34,900.
