James Myers Obituary (2022) – Winchester, VA

James E. (Jim) Myers, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 25.
Jim was born in Danville, Virginia to Riley E. & Madeline B Myers. He graduated from Hargrave Military Academy Class of 1963. Pursuing his dream of owning his own motorcycle business, he purchased Valley Cycle Center in 1968. He was the sole proprietor and owner until 2020 when He has taken his retirement. Jim had many talents, he could fix or restore anything from his vision of what it should look like and make it look like new. A friend of his once said “There is a right way and a wrong way and the way of Jim Myers”. He has collected and restored vintage motorcycles to perfection, especially BSAs and Triumphs. He was particularly fond of old racing bikes.
Jim married Faye Pyne Myers, his wife of 42 years. They had two sons; James R. (wife Michelle) & Richard B. Myers (wife Becky) He was also the proud “Pappy” of five grandchildren, Riley, Sam, Abby, Ben and Everett. He had a sister, Madeline (Susu) Bearov and a brother William B. (Bill) Myers (wife Becky.)
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
