Cyclist rushed to hospital with pelvic injuries following collision involving van

A cyclist was injured in an early morning crash. The 50-year-old cyclist suffered pelvic injuries when he was involved in a collision with a black Ssangyong Musso on Saturday June 25 at around 8:45 a.m.

The incident, which happened on Larkswood Road in Redcar, saw the cyclist rushed to James Cook University Hospital, where he remains while he receives treatment.

Cleveland police are now appealing for more information about the collision and have asked anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a cyclist in Redcar. The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Saturday June 25 on Larkswood Road, Redcar.

“Officers have received a report that a 50-year-old cyclist was injured following a collision involving a black Ssangyong Musso. The cyclist suffered injuries to his pelvis and was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he remains while he receives treatment.

“Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may have CCTV or dash cam footage of the incident or the vehicle/cyclist prior to the incident.
