Coatesville Invitational Vintage Grand Prix events announced – Daily Local

COATESVILLE – Plans have been unveiled for the 6th Annual Coatesville Invitational Vintage Grand Prix scheduled for Saturday, September 17, with special events on Thursday and Friday evenings.

Guests will experience the thrill of watching up to 80 vintage cars and motorcycles, dating from 1900 to 1977, individually traverse a challenging 2.2-mile course that winds through the historic streets of the town of Coatesville. The Brandywine Motorsports Club continues to support the event with its expertise in overseeing course design, driver registration and competition. Driver registration is open at https://coatesvillegrandprix.com/rules%2Fregistration.

General admission is free and spectators will enjoy vendors, food trucks and a new beer garden, all just steps from the start/finish line. Proceeds from sponsorships, PRIXview night tickets and memorabilia sales benefit Coatesville Parks and Recreation initiatives.

Grand Prix Weekend kicks off with PRIXview on Thursday, September 15 from 6-9 p.m. This evening under the stars is hosted by CIVGP committee member Crosby Wood and his wife Nancy at their historic Brooklawn estate, just 15 minutes from downtown Coatesville in the hills of Unionville.

Co-hosted by the CIVGP Committee and the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce, the PRIXview evening is one of the premier social events of the year and concluded in 2021. Enjoy an exclusive display of select vehicles from time while mingling with drivers, event sponsors, committee members and other enthusiasts. Tickets are $50 and include cocktails, light meals and music. Tickets will go on sale in July.

On September 16, the day before the Grand Prix, the Friday Night Cruise features vintage cars, trucks and special interest vehicles. Open to all car enthusiasts, this special evening allows non-competitors to tour the city and get a glimpse of the course. Bring your pre-1977 hot rods, classic and restored cars! No registration or registration fees are required; however, all vehicles must be registered. Parking for cruise participants will be available along the Lincoln Highway between 1st and 4th Streets where spectators can view up close.

Now in its sixth year, the Coatesville Invitational Vintage Grand Prix has seen the first sponsorship engagements of Brian Hoskins Ford, Coatesville Express Car Wash, PECO, Pennoni, The Coatesville Youth Initiative (supported through the generosity of Jennifer and Bob McNeil) and Urban Outfitters. Sponsorship and vendor opportunities are a great way to increase visibility and show community support.
