“Athens cyclists, keep in mind that“ Share The Road ”works both ways. The drivers will share the road with you. In return, remember on the bike path to politely share this route with walkers and joggers. Thank you.”

“One of the truly inspiring phenomena of nature, right up there with the Serengeti migrations and the buzzards returning to Hinckley, is the annual ‘reject everything’ seen outside the rentals and dormitories around the University of Ohio and Athens. The amount of “stuff” is amazing! They could drive tourist buses to Athens to see it.

“Democrats pushing the ‘America is evil’ duck and focusing only on slavery in regards to all the problems the United States has ever faced: ‘We have to look at the history of slavery , if you don’t learn from history, you are doomed to repeat it ‘

Me: “What about the history of socialism?”

Democrats: “You are a racist!” “

“Was it just me who noticed, or has Athens just received a staggering drop in spring semester rape reports?”

“Glad to see the (new?) ‘You are here’ stickers on the large fixed campus maps. Useful / time saving, even for the old ones! “

“Over the past year, I have become outraged by the looting, fires, general destruction and chaos that have plagued urban areas across America. I became equally disgusted that the officials did nothing to stop this unwarranted destruction. But then I had a wake-up call: who cares? I live in an affluent, peaceful and culturally elite college town. This mahem does not come to Athens.

“The opening ceremonies for Ohio University took place this past weekend. The “right sizing” should start in a week or two. “

“Athens City Council recently met in committee to discuss the possibility of creating a resolution against Ohio House Bill 157. (A resolution ?! Say it’s not!) (2030?) Athenians (especially those who are fully vaccinated) will always need to wear masks because systematic racism is causing climate change. I have no idea what Ohio House Bill 157 is, but if the Athens City Council is against it, I support it!

“The Ohio University Police Department has apparently tasked an administrative unit in the OU to implement a new restrictive (possibly illegal) policy on student travel designed to ‘manage’ travel UO students. This policy defines student travel as taking place more than 100 miles from the OU’s home campus, including overnight. “Recording travel at the heart of this policy will provide an accurate view of where Ohio University students are located and the types of activities they pursue,” said Catherine Marshall, director of the Global Opportunities Office (sic). (Could this “registration” be coupled with a vaccination passport? More surveillance, less effort!) “

“Can we please stop the murder of black boys, black girls, black women and black men; I’m tired of reading their obits over and over and over and over again! “
